Norton Commons and Prospect camera rules belong in the drawer before you ask for a street-facing lens
The covenant is in a drawer, a closing packet, or an email from the management company. It may limit what faces the street, what mounts to brick, and what a neighbor can see from a sidewalk. Read it before you ask for a camera grid. Home Security Systems Louisville takes that call on (502) 760-0824. SafeStreets is the ADT Authorized Provider that installs. ADT monitors 24/7. This site is not ADT corporate. The lockup is Louisville Security Pros on homesecuritysystemslouisville.com. We do not invent a specific HOA dollar fine. We do not fight your board for you. We will not hang a camera the covenant clearly bans and then pretend we did not read it. Indoor sensors plus ADT 24/7 is still a complete system. Norton Commons and Prospect are occupancy pages. This journal is the packet in the drawer.
ADT Secure+ at $53.99/mo* is doors, windows, a keypad, and 24/7. That plan does not need a street-facing camera. Secure+ at $53.99* adds smoke or carbon monoxide. Smart+ at $63.99* is the most popular when you want a lock you can hit from a downtown garage or a Hurstbourne lot. Complete+ at $74.99* is video when you asked for video and the board will allow what you asked for. $99 install on many plans. 36 months. Free alarm promo ($850 value) on qualifying monitoring*. Homeowners only. How much ADT is in Louisville is the money. Packages is the product page.
Bring the packet. We will not invent your board fine
Every board writes a slightly different sentence. Some care about cameras that face the sidewalk. Some care about wires. Some care about doorbells that stick off brick. Some do not mention cameras at all. We will not quote a fine we have not seen in your papers. We will not tell you “HOAs never allow cameras” and we will not tell you “HOAs always allow cameras.” Bring the packet. Email it to yourself so it is on the phone when you dial. There is no form on this site that collects it. Contact is the 502 line.
If you cannot find the packet, say that. The specialist will still quote indoor sensors. Video can wait one conversation. The door should not. A technician comes to the house. Confirm the calendar on the call. If the board needs a form before a mount goes on brick, say that date too so the truck and the form are not surprises for each other.
A leftover builder pad is usually indoor. Indoor is the part boards argue about less. Photograph the pad. Order the watch. Decide the lens with the covenant in hand. East End builder keypads is the hardware article. This journal is the rule next to it.
Norton Commons: town-center walks, short driveways, and the camera question
Norton Commons 40059 is a walkable plat with a town center, short lots, and porches that face sidewalks. That is why the camera question comes up. A lens that sees the sidewalk may see a neighbor. A doorbell on a porch may be the whole video ask. Outdoor cameras on a long drive are a less common sentence here because the drives are not long. Say what you actually want. Do not order a driveway camera because a cousin in Fern Creek has one.
Weekday empties toward Hurstbourne, downtown, and JCPS or Oldham County bells still empty these houses. The sidewalk crowd does not watch your door. The town center does not watch your door. ADT watches your door if you order it. Occupancy is still occupancy on a pretty plat. Weekday empty houses is the commute article. This journal is why the commute call should include the packet.
House versus townhome versus condo matters inside the same development. A townhome may have a board sentence a detached house does not. A stacked unit may already have association cameras in a hall. Those association cameras are not yours. Your door is still your door. Say the occupancy card.
Prospect on US 42: Jefferson versus Oldham still matters more than the lens
Prospect 40059 can sit in Jefferson County or Oldham County depending on the address. The camera covenant is one file. The police desk is another. Do not let a camera argument distract you from the ZIP. Louisville Metro Chapter 127 is FARU and $15 a year, 65 and older exempt, if the address is Metro. Oldham County wants a permit and does not charge a fee. Confirm which one you are. The lens does not pick the desk. Oldham and Bullitt desks is the county-line article.
US 42 lots can be larger than Norton Commons lots. A long driveway is a real outdoor-camera ask on those. A board may still limit what faces the street. A rear camera that sees your own gravel is a different sentence from a street-facing lens. Say rear versus street on the call. We will place what the quote said and what the packet allows.
Harrods Creek edges and wooded lots add extra-unit doors and shop openings. Say extra unit. A leftover pad in the main house does not watch the shop. Indoor sensors in the shop do not require a street-facing lens. Start there if the board is loud about the street.
What indoor sensors do when the board says no street camera
They do the job. Door contacts. Window contacts on the openings you actually open. A keypad. ADT 24/7. Cellular backup when LG&E or the utility on the bill drops. That is a complete professionally installed system. A skipped lens is a skipped clip. It is not a skipped watch. People treat a camera ban as a reason to delay the order. It is a reason to order Secure+ or Smart+ and stop arguing with the architectural committee about a mount.
A doorbell is sometimes allowed when a floodlight camera is not. Sometimes the reverse. The packet decides. If the packet is silent, say so. We will not invent permission. We will quote indoor first and video as an ask. Complete+ at $74.99* is only the right plan if the video you want can actually hang.
False alarms are still FARU or Oldham paper, not HOA paper. A board fine and a city false-alarm bill are different envelopes. Do not mix them. File the city. Follow the covenant. Both can be true on the same house.
House versus townhome versus condo in a covenant plat
House: more openings, garage walk-through, leftover builder pad, doorbell maybe, outdoor camera maybe. Townhome: shared walls, fewer sides, porch on a sidewalk, board often louder about the front. Condo: fewest openings, association cameras in a hall, your door still yours. Extra unit: count it. Leftover keypad: photograph it. Those cards still run the quote inside an HOA. The HOA does not replace them.
Tenants do not get the homeowner promotion. If you own the townhome and live in it, you are the homeowner. If you lease it, this promotion is not the path. A board that requires owner-occupied status is their rule. Our rule is the promotion is for homeowners. Say which card you hold.
Larger lots inside Prospect still get occupancy cards: house, extra unit if there is a shop or guest opening, leftover keypad. Say extra unit. Prospect is the occupancy page. This journal is the covenant. Gates slow trucks. Say you are gated on the call so the technician can get in. Confirm the calendar. A technician comes out.
Doorbell on a Norton Commons porch: ask, then hang
Porches here face sidewalks on purpose. A doorbell may be the only video that makes sense. Ask the board or read the architectural section before install day if the packet is fuzzy. A missing-box irritation is real even on a pretty plat. It is still a clip, not a door plan. The garage walk-through and the rear are the door plan. Porch packages in Old Louisville and the Highlands is the intown version of the box problem. This page is why the East End version of that problem has a packet attached.
If the board allows the doorbell and you want it, that is Complete+. If the board does not, Secure+ still watches the garage. Do not delay the garage because the doorbell is in committee. Order the openings. Add the clip when the committee stamps the form.
Smart+ at $63.99* is a lock you can hit from Hurstbourne. That lock is not a camera and usually is not a covenant fight. If you live on your phone through pickup, Smart+ plus indoor sensors is a very East End sentence. Video can be a later add.
Complete+ is video when the board allows what you asked for
Complete+ may have a higher install when you add outdoor cameras. Ask. The $99 install* is the promotional install on many plans, not a promise that a custom grid is $99. A street-facing lens that has to come down after a board letter is a wasted mount. We would rather quote indoor video, a doorbell, or no video than hang a fight on your brick.
Indoor video is a different ask from street-facing. Some boards ignore indoor. Some still care about what a lens can see through a front window. If you want indoor video, say indoor. If you want the driveway, say driveway. Specific words help. “Cameras” as a blob does not.
Cameras yes or no is still the intake question. Yes means we read the packet and quote what can hang. No means Secure+ or Smart+ and we are done with lenses. Either answer is valid. The empty house does not require a lens. It requires a watch. School-day empties is the calendar under these plats.
Leftover builder pads inside the same HOA
New-builds in Norton Commons, Prospect, and the 40245 lots close with a pad the builder called an alarm. The HOA did not make it live. The builder did not order your ADT account. Photograph the pad before the punch-list painter touches the hall. Reactivation is often the fastest path to indoor sensors plus ADT 24/7, which is the system the covenant is least likely to fight.
A builder doorbell bracket is not permission. A hole in the brick is not permission. The packet is permission. If the leftover includes a camera the board would not approve now, say so. We can leave that camera off a new account. We can replace a pad and skip video. We will not turn a leftover lens into a covenant problem on purpose.
La Grange and Crestwood plats can have their own associations plus Oldham paper. Confirm the ZIP. Confirm the county. Confirm the board. Three files, one call. La Grange is the occupancy page. Leftover keypads is the hardware rule that covers builder pads and resale pads.
FARU or Oldham paper is not an HOA form
Louisville Metro Chapter 127: $15 a year, 65 and older exempt, FARU (502) 574-3278. Floating-year false alarms: warning, final warning, $50, $100, plus $15 if unregistered. Oldham County: permit required, no fee. Jeffersontown, if that is actually your city: register with JPD, no charge. None of those desks is your architectural committee. File the city. Follow the covenant. Jeffersontown desks if you are actually 40299. Do not file the wrong paper because the HOA office is closer than FARU.
We name the office. You file it. The board does not file FARU for you. FARU does not approve a doorbell. Keep the envelopes separate.
Utility is a third envelope. Norton Commons and Prospect Jefferson lots sit on LG&E until a bill says otherwise. Outer pockets can be KU or a co-op. Name the bill. Ask cellular backup. A covenant about cameras does not keep the router alive in an ice night. LG&E and cellular backup is the outage article.
What we will not hang
A camera the packet bans. A lens into a neighbor’s window. A mount on a facade the architectural section says is off limits. A wire across brick the board calls a violation. We will say no to those on the call or in the driveway. Indoor sensors still go in. ADT still monitors. You still get a watch. You do not get a fight we started.
We will not pretend a yard sign is permission for a camera. We will not pretend a leftover bracket is a variance. We will not call your board for you. We will read what you put in front of us and quote a system that can actually stay on the house.
Neighbor-to-neighbor camera fights are not this product. If you are already in one, indoor sensors plus ADT 24/7 is the de-escalation order: watch the door, skip the street. If you want video later, get the variance first, then call back. The empty house does not wait on the variance. The lens can.
Neighbor-to-neighbor camera fights are not this product
Sidewalks in Norton Commons put people close. US 42 lots put people farther and still produce a neighbor who hates a lens. Neither fight is monitoring. Monitoring is an armed opening that becomes a call from ADT. Keep the product in its lane or you will hate it for the wrong reason.
A gate is not ADT. A town-center camera is not ADT. A neighbor on a porch is not ADT. Those things can be pleasant. They do not call you at 2 a.m. if a rear door opens while you are in a Hurstbourne office. Order the openings. Let the board have the street if they want the street.
How to order is the 502 intake. The Louisville security guide is occupancy cards and leftover pads. How installation works is the truck. This journal is the packet you should have in your hand before anyone drills brick that faces a sidewalk.
Call with the ZIP, the covenant, and cameras yes or no
Call (502) 760-0824 with the ZIP, house versus townhome versus condo, the leftover photo, cameras yes or no, and the covenant language if you have it. Hear the monthly, the $99 install on many plans, whether video can hang, the city desk, and the date a technician can come out. Confirm that date. SafeStreets installs. ADT monitors 24/7. Louisville Security Pros is the local voice.
Indoor sensors plus a live account will still be the right first sentence on most Norton Commons and Prospect lots, even the ones that eventually get a doorbell. The packet decides the lens. Occupancy decides the watch. Do not wait on the committee to arm the garage. Arm the garage. Hang the lens if and when the packet says you can.
