East End and Oldham builder keypads look like an alarm. They are not ADT until you order monitoring

The builder pointed at a keypad in the hall and called it an alarm. The closing packet had a line about a “security system.” You got the keys. The pad is still there. That is hardware. It is not your ADT account. Home Security Systems Louisville takes the new-build call on (502) 760-0824. SafeStreets is the ADT Authorized Provider that installs or reactivates. ADT monitors 24/7. This site is not ADT corporate. The lockup is Louisville Security Pros on homesecuritysystemslouisville.com. 40059 Norton Commons inside Prospect is not 40031 La Grange and is not 40299 Jeffersontown. The hardware can look identical. The police desk does not. Norton Commons, Prospect, La Grange, and Jeffersontown are occupancy pages. This journal is the hardware already on the wall.

$99 install on many plans still applies when the leftover can be used. A full replace and a camera grid can move the install. Ask. Secure+ $53.99*. Smart+ $63.99*. Complete+ $74.99*. Free alarm promo ($850 value) on qualifying monitoring*. 36 months. How much ADT is in Louisville is the money. Packages is the product page. How installation works is the truck.

The builder called it an alarm. It is plastic until someone monitors it

Builder pads are a sales feature. They are not a monitoring agreement in your name. They may have door contacts. They may have a communicator built around Wi-Fi. They may have a sticker. None of that is ADT 24/7 until you order it on this line. Do not let a closing coordinator tell you the alarm transfers. Accounts do not transfer because a pad stayed on drywall.

Photograph the pad, any communicator, and the hallway before the punch-list painter touches the hall. A photo on the 502 call is the intake. There is no form that uploads it. Contact is the same number. Have the picture on your phone when you dial. Leftover keypads is the resale version of this rule. This journal is the new-build version, where the leftover is often a week old and still not live.

A technician comes to the house. Confirm the calendar on the call. If you need the system live before the first week in a new plat, say that date. We will check whether it is open. We do not put a rush promise on a closing timeline. The date you hear is the date.

Norton Commons 40059: leftover pads and the town-center empty

Norton Commons closes with pads in halls that face short lots and sidewalks. The town center is a walk, not a watch. Weekday empties toward Hurstbourne, downtown, and JCPS or Oldham County bells still empty these houses. A leftover builder pad does not arm after drop-off. Order the watch. Indoor sensors plus ADT 24/7 is the system the covenant is least likely to fight. A street-facing lens is a packet conversation. Do not delay the garage for the lens. HOA camera rules is the covenant article.

House versus townhome versus condo matters inside the same development. A townhome pad by one door is not a detached house with a garage walk-through. Count the openings. Say the occupancy card. Association cameras in a hall are not yours. Your leftover is yours, and it is still not live.

FARU versus Oldham still depends on the address. Norton Commons lots are a Jefferson occupancy story for many houses and still need the desk confirmed from the ZIP. Do not file the wrong paper because the town center feels like its own city. It is a plat. The county stamp is on the mail. Oldham and Bullitt desks if the lot is actually Oldham. Metro Chapter 127 $15 FARU if it is Metro.

Prospect and the US 42 new-builds

US 42 plats and the wooded lots off the river side close with the same builder leftover and a longer driveway. Outdoor cameras are a more common ask here than in Norton Commons because the drive is actually long. The board may still limit what faces the street. A rear camera on your own gravel is a different sentence. Say rear versus street. Bring the packet. Indoor sensors still go in if the packet is loud about the street.

Prospect 40059 can sit in Jefferson or Oldham. That sentence is in every honest East End article for a reason. Say the ZIP. Say the city on the mail. Let the specialist name FARU or Oldham. The leftover pad will not name it. Prospect is the occupancy page. This journal is the box in the hall.

Extra-unit doors on larger Prospect lots are extra openings. A shop leftover is a second pad if someone put one there. Usually they did not. Count the shop anyway. A main-house reactivation does not watch a shop door that never had a contact.

La Grange and Crestwood: Oldham paper on a builder wall

La Grange 40031 and Crestwood 40014 new plats close with pads and with Oldham’s no-fee permit sitting unfiled. File the permit after the account is live. The builder did not file it. The leftover did not file it. Oldham wants a permit and does not charge a fee. That is paper, not a coupon. La Grange is the occupancy page.

Oldham County Schools empty these houses on a long commute toward Louisville jobs. Two empties stacked. A dark builder pad through the first term is a common story and a bad one. Photograph it the day of keys. Order before the first Monday. School-day empties is the calendar. This journal is the hall.

CSX through downtown La Grange is noise, not monitoring. Occupancy is the empty after drop-off, not the train. We will not sell you a railroad package. We will ask about the garage walk-through and the leftover communicator.

40245, 40241, and the Gene Snyder east lots

40245 Lake Forest-edge and 40241 Springhurst-edge lots sit on the Gene Snyder and close with builder leftovers that look like Norton Commons hardware. The desk may be Metro FARU. Confirm. Do not assume Prospect habits. Do not assume Jeffersontown habits. Hurstbourne Parkway mash does not pick the hall. The ZIP does.

Ford Kentucky Truck Plant shifts on Chamberlain Lane empty some of these east lots on a clock that is not a downtown badge. Say the shift. A leftover pad does not arm at 5:40 a.m. Weekday empty houses is the commute article, including the plant clock. This journal is why that commute call should include a photo of the builder box.

LG&E is still the Jefferson County default on many of these lots. Outer pockets can be KU. Name the bill. Builder pads often lean on Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi dies with the feeder. Ask cellular backup on the leftover call, not after the first ice night. LG&E and cellular backup is the outage article.

House versus townhome in a new plat

House: garage walk-through, rear, leftover pad in a wide hall, doorbell maybe, outdoor camera maybe. Townhome: fewer sides, porch on a sidewalk, board louder about the front, pad by the one door you actually use. Condo: fewest openings, association cameras not yours. Extra unit: count it. Leftover keypad: photograph it. Those cards still run the quote in a brand-new ZIP. The plat name does not replace them.

Tenants do not get the homeowner promotion. If you just closed and you own it, you are the homeowner. If you are leasing a new townhome, this promotion is not the path. A builder’s “included alarm” does not change that. It was never monitoring in your name.

Cameras yes or no is still a real question on a new porch. Yes means Complete+ if the board allows what you asked for. No means Secure+ or Smart+ and a live door. Both beat a dark builder pad. Porch packages is the intown box article. New plats collect boxes too. The rear still matters more.

What we can reactivate and what we replace

Reactivation means SafeStreets tests the existing sensors, replaces what is dead, connects a communicator that can reach ADT, and puts the address on a new monitoring agreement. Builder hardware is often new enough to keep. It is also often Wi-Fi-first. Keeping sensors and adding a cellular path is a common East End sentence. Keeping a Wi-Fi-only communicator as the only path is not the sentence we want on an ice night.

We replace cracked pads, silent communicators, sensors painted shut by the punch-list painter, and panels that will not join a new account. That is still a professional install. It is still $99* on many plans if the work matches the promotion. Outdoor cameras can move the install. Ask. Do not assume a twelve-camera grid is $99. Do not assume a reactivation is free monitoring. Monitoring still starts at $53.99* on Secure+ when you qualify.

If the builder left cameras, say so. If they left brackets and took the cameras, say that. A bracket is not permission and is not a clip. The packet is permission. Indoor sensors do not need the bracket.

HOA camera rules sit in the same drawer as the builder packet

The architectural section and the leftover pad arrive in the same closing stack. Read both before you ask for a street-facing lens. We will not hang a camera the covenant bans. We will hang indoor sensors. ADT will still monitor. A variance can wait. The garage should not. HOA camera rules is the dedicated packet article. This journal mentions it because builder leftovers and covenants land in the same week.

A builder doorbell that already sticks off brick may or may not be allowed going forward. Do not assume grandfathering. Ask. If it has to come down, indoor sensors still stay. If it can stay and you want it on Complete+, say cameras yes. Specific words help. “The builder put cameras in” does not tell us what still works or what the board will tolerate.

Gates slow trucks. Say you are gated so the technician can get in. Confirm the calendar. A technician comes out. A gate is not ADT. A town-center camera is not ADT. The leftover pad is not ADT until the account is live.

School-day empties on an East End leftover

Closings cluster before terms. The leftover clusters with them. JCPS, Oldham County Schools, and the East End magnets empty these houses the first Monday whether the pad is live or not. Arm after the last backpack leaves. A dark builder pad through in-service week is an unsupervised week. Photograph it the day of keys. School-day empties is the calendar. Smart+ at $63.99* is the app in the pickup line. Secure+ at $53.99* is the door if you arm in the driveway.

We will not rank those districts. We will not use a mascot as a crime score. We will not invent an East End crime rate. Citywide figures live on Is Louisville safe in 2026 — Chief Humphrey, Courier-Journal January 9, 2026, 114 homicides versus 145, burglaries down, thefts from cars up slightly, plus the July 7, 2026 Safe Louisville report. Those citations are not a sensor on a Norton Commons garage. Occupancy is.

Change the builder code in the driveway on install day. A code that three subcontractors knew is not a code you want through the first term. Ask for that walkthrough. Take it. Add a spouse. Add a neighbor on the same plat, not a number that rings in a Hurstbourne garage through every accidental trip.

Jeffersontown new-builds are a different desk

40299 and 40223 new ranches close with the same leftover habit and a JPD registration that is no charge. Register anyway. Do not file FARU on a J-town plat because the model home felt like Louisville. Do not skip paper because it is free. Louisville versus Jeffersontown is the desk article. This journal mentions J-town because the hardware looks like Prospect hardware and the paper does not.

Taylorsville Road mash is how people get this wrong. The leftover will not correct you. The ZIP will, if you say it. Photograph the pad either way. Order monitoring either way. File the desk the ZIP names.

St. Matthews, Middletown, and other independent halls confirm from the ZIP. We do not invent those dollars. We do not pretend a builder leftover files itself with any of them.

Cellular backup on a brand-new panel still has to be asked

New is not the same as outage-ready. Builder communicators often expect Wi-Fi. LG&E ice and summer cells still happen on East End feeders. Ask whether the panel on the quote reaches ADT if the router is dead. If the leftover cannot, SafeStreets can add a path. That question belongs on the first call, not after the first blink. Cellular backup is the outage article. Name the utility on the bill. Jefferson default is LG&E. Outer pockets confirm from the ZIP. KU is not the Louisville default. Duke Energy Indiana is the river sentence, not a 40059 sentence.

A thermostat on Smart+ may sit dark in an outage. The alarm path should not. Do not confuse automation with backup. Ask both if you want both.

False alarms after a new install are usually a code problem or a sensor the painter sealed. Walk every opening. File FARU or Oldham or JPD in the same week. Metro’s floating year is a warning, a final warning, then $50, then $100, plus $15 if unregistered. Oldham is a no-fee permit. J-town is no charge to register. Mount Washington and Shepherdsville are not these plats, but if your “East End” is actually Bullitt, that is the other journal. Confirm.

Call with the photo before the painter patches the hall

Call (502) 760-0824 with the ZIP, house versus townhome, the leftover photo, cameras yes or no, and the covenant if you have it. Hear whether reactivation is likely, which monthly you are on, whether the install stays $99*, which desk files the paper, whether the communicator has a cellular path, and what date a technician can come out. Confirm that date. SafeStreets installs. ADT monitors 24/7. Louisville Security Pros is the local voice.

How to order is the rest of the intake. The Louisville security guide is leftover pads, occupancy, and coverage in one place. Then dial anyway. A Norton Commons townhome pad, a Prospect driveway leftover, a La Grange plat box, a 40245 hall pad, and a Jeffersontown builder ranch are the same product until someone monitors them. The builder called it an alarm. ADT does not watch it until you order. The photo is how that order starts, and the painter should not get there first.
